Sue Vang, a Hmong refugee who immigrated to the United States at the age of six, deeply values diversity, personal strength, and the power of relationships. Passionate about preserving her ndigenous Hmong heritage, shededicates herself to language revitalization and building bridges between the past and present. Sue finds joy in the simple

things – connecting with nature, cultivating plants for both nourishment and healing, and raising endearing farm animals – while empowering dual language students and educators to reclaim their native tongues, ensuring that the rich tapestry of the Hmong language and culture continues to thrive.

- The Journey -

Born in Ban Vinai Refugee Camp and raised in Clovis, California, Lu/xLus is a storyteller and artist who blends imagination with heritage. He trained in multimedia through the U.S. Marine Corps and now creates films, comics, and books inspired by Hmong folklore, dreams, and family. His work includes the documentaries The Hmong and the Secret War and Yia the Bull Mua, and the creative world of

Tigers From the Mountain. He hopes to spark courage and creativity in young storytellers everywhere.
